Occupational therapy employs various exercises which involve both physical and mental activities to improve and develop motor and sensory skills that make patients independent in their daily lives in various Paediatric, orthopaedics, neurological, Psychiatric and Geriatric conditions.   • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a four-and-half-year undergraduate program designed to introduce students to treatment methods that focuses on the science of movement. This science makes use of thermotherapy, electrotherapy, shockwave therapy, evidence-based kinesiology and exercise prescription to treat intermittent/chronic conditions of the bones and soft tissues.

    Physiotherapy or physical therapy is an allied health profession that is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation, and rehabilitation. A physical therapist’s job involves helping patients to recover and/or rehabilitate from a state of having been incapacitated from neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, sports, geriatrics, and oncology impairments among others. He/she has the responsibility to help restore the patient’s body to its optimal functioning level. They are also key health professionals in the prevention of injuries including on-field sports injuries and treat the reactions and responses of the body to injury, disease, or abnormalities in development. Physiotherapy practice is characterized by reflective behavior and systematic clinical reasoning, both contributing to and underpinning a problem-solving approach to patient-centric care.

    Physiotherapy is an autonomous profession, which means physiotherapists can operate as members of the health service provider or rehabilitation teams or as independent practitioners who can accept referrals from a range of sources, including from an individual themselves (self-referral) or from other people often as a member of a team with other health or social care professionals.
